Antique Art Nouveau Hand-Painted Porcelain Biscuit Jar Base – White Poppies, Unm

Add a touch of turn-of-the-century elegance to your home with this beautiful antique porcelain handled jar base. This piece showcases a stunning example of professional studio china painting from the late Victorian era.

The body features soft-focus, completely hand-painted white poppy blossoms layered over delicate, muted green and cream backgrounds, beautifully finished with hand-applied gold stencil tracery along the dark-toned collar.

The undulating, mold-blown relief rim and the distinctive 8-segment molded wheel/spoke pattern on the base are highly characteristic of unmarked blanks produced by R.S. Prussia (Reinhold Schlegelmilch) or contemporary Thuringian (German) porcelain factories from the Art Nouveau era (circa 1890–1910).

Please note: This listing is for the bottom base of a biscuit/cracker jar and does not include the original lid.
