Vintage Mid Century Yellow Basketweave Ceramic Dish Planter Vanity Vessel Japan

Add a touch of vintage mid-century charm to your home with this beautiful glazed yellow ceramic basketweave dish. Produced in Japan during the 1960s–1970s, this piece features an embossed, dimensional basket-weave pattern across the exterior, completed by a braided rope texture trim and two built-in side handles.

While originally manufactured as a bakeware piece, it does not include a lid, making it incredibly versatile for creative home staging and storage. It makes a stunning vintage vanity vessel for organizing cotton balls, cosmetics, or rolled hand towels in a retro powder room. Alternatively, it works beautifully as a low-profile succulent planter or decorative centerpiece.

The underside is clearly stamped "OVEN PROOF," mold number "227M," and features a distinct interlocking block letter "M" manufacturer logo. It still retains its original blue and white paper "JAPAN" export label on the base. Perfect for display on cottagecore, grandmillennial, or farmhouse shelving!

Excellent vintage condition. No lid. No structural chips or cracks. Features minor, light vintage crazing under the glaze typical of age and use. Glaze remains bright and glossy. Original foil/paper label still attached to base (see photos for full detail).
